Find what your gut reacts to

Most people working out their trigger foods are doing it from memory, weeks after the fact. GutBox watches every meal against every symptom, so the pattern shows up in your logs instead.

Every health goal, with your gut at the centre

Knowing how much you ate is the easy part. Knowing what it did to you is the part every other app leaves out, and the part GutBox is built for.

Log a meal in seconds

Photograph the plate, say it out loud, or scan a barcode. GutBox works out what was in it, so you are not typing ingredients at the end of a bad day.

Calories, fibre, plants, processed food

You get the calories and macros every tracker gives you, plus the three things that actually move gut symptoms, all measured against targets that suit your goals.

Bristol, urgency, pain

Recorded in a couple of taps, with the detail that matters and no form to fill in.

Your gut, not the average gut

No two people react to the same things, so there is no generic list of foods to avoid here. Your targets and your triggers come out of your own logs, which is what makes the plan yours.

Triggers you can test

Suspect dairy? GutBox tells you what your own logs say, and how confident that is, because correlation in a personal diary is a reason to look closer, never proof.

How it works

Log what you eat

A photo, a sentence, or a barcode. It takes seconds, which is the only reason anyone keeps doing it.

Log how you feel

Bowel movements, symptoms, urgency, weight. Two taps, no free-text form to fill in.

See what connects

GutBox compares the two across your whole history and surfaces what keeps showing up together.

Whatever you are tracking for

Eating better, losing weight, hitting a protein target, or working out what keeps setting you off. GutBox tracks calories and macros like any other app, and puts your gut at the centre of it, so one log gets you to your goal and tells you how your body took it.

And because no two guts agree on anything, none of it is a template. What you end up with is your plan, built out of your own logs.

  • Fibre and plants
  • Symptoms and triggers

Your gut diary stays yours

This is some of the most personal information you will ever write down. GutBox does not sell it, does not use it for advertising, and contains no advertising or tracking SDKs. You can delete your account, and everything in it, from inside the app.

Frequently asked questions

The things worth knowing before you start.

What is GutBox and how is it different from other food trackers?
A digital food diary that watches what you eat against how you feel. It counts calories and macros like any tracker, then keeps going: fibre, plant variety, processed food, and the symptoms that follow.
Do I need to know anything about nutrition to start?
No. Working out what was in the meal is GutBox's job. You bring the meal and how you felt.
How do I log a meal?
Photograph the plate, say it out loud, or scan a barcode. GutBox fills in the rest.
How do I record symptoms?
A couple of taps: Bristol scale, urgency, pain, weight. No free-text form to fill in.
Do I have to log everything for it to work?
No. A few days gives you a timeline, a few weeks is where patterns start showing up. Gaps are fine, they just leave less to compare.
How reliable is the trigger detection?
It reports what your own logs say and how strong the link looks. A pattern in a personal diary is a reason to look closer, never proof.
Does it work offline?
Photo, voice and barcode recognition need a connection. Without one, type the meal in instead.
Is GutBox free to use?
Yes. GutBox is free to download and use, with no subscriptions or in-app purchases.
What happens to my data?
Never sold, never used for advertising, and no tracking SDKs in the app. Delete your account from inside the app and everything in it goes too.
Will GutBox be available on Android?
Coming soon. iPhone came first; email us and we will tell you when Android lands.
Need more help?
Questions, problems, feature requests: all of it goes to support@gutbox.app.
